Emily D.
Emily worked in the veterinary field with companion animals for 2 decades. She wanted to work with species she had never worked with before so she started volunteering for a raptor center in 2011. Emily absolutely loved it and was soon taking vacation days to be there. She was eventually hired and promoted to ICU Manager and the Assistant Executive Director. Seeing a need for more Wildlife Rehabilitators in her state, she decided to start her own 501c3 nonprofit in 2017 to elevate the care and protection of area wildlife through her rehabilitation work and through working together with other wildlife professionals. Emily loves working with birds of prey but her favorite accomplishment has been working with the endangered California Condors. She has had the privilege of working alongside Condor Biologists and has assisted with releases, public education and life-saving chelation therapies. As a lifelong student of nature and biology, Emily's on a mission to both care for wildlife in need, as well as unify wildlife professionals in her region through community and collaboration.
