Effie L.

When Effie was a kid her brother brought home newborn opossums that a dog had gotten a hold of. She raised both of them, taught them to eat outside, then eventually released them. Next he brought rabbits that needed help, then a friend found raccoons that needed help too. Effie took all of them to high school with her so they wouldn’t miss any feedings. Now in her 35th year of rehabbing, she lives in the country and all of the animal control workers from surrounding towns know to bring animals to her for help. She says that it gets crazy during baby season. Effie loves what she does and all the many many lives each year that she is able to help save and return back to nature.
