After moving to Galveston, Jennifer quickly realized that there were very few resources and people to help the injured and orphaned wildlife. She started by volunteering at the local humane society and making connections with people that care about the animals and wildlife in her area. Then she began volunteering at The Wildlife Center in Houston. She learned to feed and care for all types of small mammals and some birds. She was soon also connected with The Injured Bird Response Team that was helping rescue and transport injured and orphaned birds to The Wildlife Center in Houston. Jennifer has been rehabbing now for 2 years. An incubator will help her care for the most fragile babies.
