Shawna has always had a huge love for all creatures from the fluffy to the scaly. As a little girl, she would bring home every stray she found and every injured wild animal she knew needed help. Sometimes she and her dad would raise animals, then release them, and sometimes they would take them to large centers that took care of wildlife. Doing this with her father fed Shawna's desire to help wildlife so she made it a goal to one day open a rehab center of her own. She finally accomplished that.
